Portraiture

Erica and Ethan are getting married at The Colony Hotel on Palm Beach in March and they wanted to go to the beach for their engagement session, so to the beach it was!

We had a great time and perfect weather, and the sun was very cooperative in providing us with some awesome lighting!!

Here’s a couple of my favorite images from their session –

Ava is one of our gorgeous little girls! We photographed Mom and Dad’s wedding a year and half ago, then we did Mom’s maternity pictures and Ava’s newborn pictures, and now Ava was back for her 4 month old “pushing up” stage pictures!

Isn’t she gorgeous??? I don’t know what I love more, her eyes or her dimples!!

Here’s a couple of pictures from her most recent session!

We’ve done SOOOO many boudoir sessions for Holiday giving (there’s going to be a lot of HAPPY husbands this Christmas!)! The woman have been of all ages and sizes, PLUS not only have they been gorgeous, but also so sweet and I feel like I’ve got a whole lot of new friends to be thankful for this year!

I will NEVER post anyone’s boudoir images without their express written consent first. We DO, of course, have signed model releases on file before we photograph ANYONE, but I feel like these types of images are very special and private and unless I’ve contacted my client and received an additional consent for me to use the images specifically for promotional purposes, I just wouldn’t dream of publishing them at all.

Aimee, who was one of our “Marathon” girls from our Marathon session we did the day before Thanksgiving, gave me consent to use any of her images any way I’d like, so I thought I’d post some pages out of her album! Aimee is gorgeous and her album came out just spectacular! Here’s a couple of her pages . .

I first met Wendy when she was pregnant with Alex, and have photographed Alex through his first year. He’s 10 months old now and we got together at their home to do some Christmas pictures! It’s been a super eventful year for their family and catching up with them was absolutely fantastic. And now that they bought a house that’s literally less then a 30 second drive from my house, well, maybe we’ll see a lot more of each other!

Here’s a small selection of images from my time with Wendy, Josh and the VERY handsome Alex –

Lots more where those came from!!!! Now all that’s left is to choose the Christmas Card!!

Holiday Portaits are in full swing!!!! Between families “on location” and the kids we’re photographing in the studio, we’re feeling like Santa’s helpers already!!

Call now for appointments!!!! Right now we have some session still available, but once we’re fully booked, we won’t be able to do any more portraits for the season.

She does hair (yes, she does my hair, she does Jen’s hair, she does Amber’s hair and she does Laura’s hair!) and she’s by far the best hairdresser EVER! Donna recently moved to a new salon too . . Capelli’s in the Bluffs Square . . the salons phone number is 630-0610. If anyone needs a BEYOND fantastic hair style/cut/color, etc., etc., CALL HER . . she’s AWESOME!

I had a chance to go to South Beach yesterday and photograph some models as part of a very small workshop (there were only 6 of us) and it was FANTASTIC!! New Jersey photographer, Neil Van Niekerk was in town to share some of his immense knowledge with us!!!

Unlike most photographers, I will tell you straight out that these girls are models and we were photographing as part of a workshop. I’m not going to pass them off as brides, or high school seniors (although Daniella, the younger of the two models really IS a high school senior) as I’ve often and quite recently seen on other local photographers blogs.

We were there to work on lighting techniques for the most natural end result possible!. It’s was FUUUUNNNN and VERY useful for me! It was almost a class on “Back to Basics” for me, and it was very, very needed!!! I know I try to push myself and learn new and creative ways of doing things all the time, but sometimes the simplest answer really is the best answer! I would HIGHLY recommend this workshop to ANY photographer, regardless of skill level!! Neil was an incredible instructor and a very committed and caring instructor, which if you take a workshop or two in the is industry you find out really fast just how much that is NOT the norm!!! As an experienced photographer lots of people asked me why I’d take this workshop, and I have to tell you . . . because I’m not perfect and I don’t know everything! That’s why!! It was fantastic and I learned SOOOO much!!

All of these images were taken either inside a building or outside at dusk and then again later in the evening when it was dark outside.

It’s amazing what you can do when you know how to fully use your equipment!!!

Enjoy!
