Yesterday I photographed the wedding of Lindsey’s best friend, Julia! Julia and Chris were married at a beautiful little church in downtown West Palm, and had their reception at The Norton Museum of Art. Julia had a suite at The Breakers Hotel and got ready there, so we I had lots of time to just hang with the girls!! Lindsey was the Matron of Honor, so yesterday was her chance to be on the other end of the camera!!! She told me that the day went SOOO fast and she felt like it was a blur. I laughed at her and asked her where I’ve heard THAT before!!! That’s exactly what our brides tell us all the time! In my own opinion, one of the many advantages to having a woman photographer is that we’ve been brides, we’ve been bridesmaids, and we’ve also been the Mother of The Bride too!!!! It just makes it SO much easier to relate and to be able to really make a difference to our brides!

Anyway, Julia and Chris’s day went beautifully!!! It was well organized and everything just seemed to “work”!!! It was a very emotional day for everyone and there were lots and lots of tears. Just watching both Julia and Chris yesterday it was easy to see just how close they are with their families! It was awesome! It was a fun day for me, and I wanted to share some of the images . . . What’s the catch, you ask?? There’s only a couple of catches . . . you have to be an eager and willing participant (you may get dirty, you may get wet, you may laugh harder than you’ve ever laughed in your life) and of course we have to do these 1-2 hour sessions on weekdays!

For the Bridal (couples welcome) Sessions:

You do NOT need to be one of our brides to win one of these sessions!! It is very, very common for brides that couldn’t afford us to come back to us after the wedding and ask to have the portraits redone because they weren’t happy with the photographer that they hired, so we’re used to working with lots and lots of brides and grooms that are not “ours”. You DO need to have a gorgeous dress and long veil that you are willing to trash! If you’re bringing your guy along, he needs to be wiling to get his tux/suit nice and wet too.

For the High School Seniors:

If you or someone you know is graduating from high school in 2008 and you’re really tired of the assembly line, cheesy feathers and boas kind of photography that the schools have contracted with a national photography chain to provide, and you want something that’s “REAL”, something that’s high fashion, that done someplace cool like Downtown at The Gardens, Downtown Abacoa, maybe even City Place or Worth Avenue then send me an email! We’re looking for girls and guys who have a style and want images that really show who they are!

All entries have to be in to me by September 7th so Lindsey and I can pick 4 couples and 4 Seniors!!

 

Lindsey and I are back from Boston! We had a GREAT time while we were there even though we worked long, long days and didn’t get much more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep every night. We found some time to have a little fun though, and both of us thought Boston was a cool, COOL town!!

Since everyone’s been asking, here’s some pics that we shot while were working. I would post some of the pics of us while we were playing, but you know the rules . . . what happens in Boston, stays in Boston!

Believe it or not, NOW is the time that we start getting busy with family portraits! I promised SO many people that I’d remind them when it was time to start scheduling family portraits, so here you go guys . . . IT’S TIME!!!!!!

The holidays are coming, which means we’ll be doing a lot of wall portraits for gifts, holiday cards, smaller prints for gift giving, etc., etc., etc. BUT HANG ON . . . first we have to photograph the session and do all of the work after the session (remember, for every hour we spend with a camera in our hands, we spend at least 3 hours of works after the session because we do NOT ever, just present our wonderful clients with “camera files”, we are highly trained professionals, both in photography and as artists and we work and perfect our images . . . all of them!).

All of our clients want something different too, so we meet with our clients in the studio for “planning sessions” so that we know what they want before we start photographing!

All of this, plus the ordering and the framing takes TIME! That’s why our prices for these sessions begin to go up after October, until we get to a point in December where we just can’t do any more!!!

The moral of the story . . . PLAN NOW!!! Call for your appointment! We fully book these sessions every year because we do have to limit them in order to provide our clients with the outstanding service we work so hard to provide!

And the Cardwells are from all over the country and met here in Jupiter to celebrate their parents 50th wedding anniversary. We did a portrait session with all of them at Coral Cove before they all went home!

Can’t wait to see everyone again this year!!!
